Telescope 2016 Mavrud

This wine features an indigenous Bulgarian red varietal, Mavrud. The grapes were carefully harvested and sorted by hand. Following fermentation, the wine was aged for ten months in French oak barrels. Aromas and flavors of red fruit and cloves culminate in a long, spicy finish. A pure expression of a local Bulgarian favorite.

This wine is from Bulgaria's Thracian Valley. The grapes were harvested and sorted by hand, fermented in concrete, and aged for twelve months in French oak barrels. Vanilla and subtle cigar box aromas combine with a palate of dark fruit and leather in this memorable blend of Syrah, Merlot, and Petit Verdot.

OUR STORY

Telescope Wine was founded in Sofia, Bulgaria by a husband and wife team, Seth Elgin and Zori Ivanova. They've partnered with some of the best winemakers in Bulgaria to create unique--and uniquely Bulgarian--wines to share with wine enthusiasts around the world.
